In the language of wine, an estate means that the vineyards and winery are in the same location. The inspiration for this came from the great producers of Bordeaux and in particular Chateaux Mouton Rothschild who famously were the first to also bottle their wines on the estate. This approach; of having ultimate control over the vineyards, winery and even bottling of the wines appealed to the Taylor family. These days the wines are still crafted and bottled on the estate although not all of the fruit is grown there. Mainly because of the popularity of the wines, but also if fruit from other areas is of a higher quality as is the case for the Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc. It's this commitment to the way our wines are crafted that has earned Taylors an enviable reputation and contributed to their continued success.
