Intense, inky, shiraz with chocolate-mocha, Christmas cake, dark berry, cassis and a generous influence of spicy oak supported by a backbone of sweet, ripe tannins. A generously-proportioned wine that offers plenty of bang for the buck.

Clare Valley and Limestone Coast fruit. Peppery spiced plum and black berry/cherry fruit with hints of eucalypt and rich mocha. Savoury, leafy edges offsetting creamy oak-wrapped dark fruit with underpinning tight tannins.

This is serious bang-for-buck Shiraz. The brightness of the comparatively cool Clare Valley shows via the high-toned red-berry and plum fruit. There's a streak of dusty, warm stones, scrubby Aussie herbs and a bit of baking spice. Tannins are leathery and powerful but not enough to quash the juicy fruit. It's a full-bodied wine with restraint and character. Drink now–2026.

Perfumed heady notes on the nose of this shiraz sourced from the Limestone Coast and Clare. Cherry plummy notes in the bouquet with a liqueur chocolate character. Plush and opulent palate bursting with fruit. This was a hot vintage, which means you get plenty for your buck.

...Delightfully plummy and full of spice on the bouquet. Typically soft and plush in the mouth with black cherry, plums, chocolate and spice. Hints of a Cherry Ripe kind of confection, too, which few will baulk at. It then rises above its station in structure with firm tannins wrapped around the fruit. It’s a forward wine, highly approachable, too, which is in keeping with past performances and lingers deliciously before closing. It makes for a perfect pair with the estate riesling in that both rarely skip a beat.

Deep ruby colour into a purple rim. Mulberries, bay leaf and anise aromatics. Medium to full, dark fruits with wood-spices and soft green-herb notes. Good length with fine tannins. It sits with simplicity but there’s pleasure here.

The Estate Shiraz is a full bodied, moderately rich wine that is structured and long on the palate, with intense flavors (blackberry, loganberry, plum jam, black licorice, oak), good balance, and a lingering finish. Warrants modest ageing. Aged 12 months in American oak barrels.
