Alluring ripe berry and plum flavours are perfectly balanced with mocha, spice and creamy vanilla characters from American oak.Download Full Winemaker Note
On release, the wine displays amazing depth of colour with dark opaque reds and a deep black centre.
The wine is dark and brooding in its youth with aromas of violets, plum and dark cherry along with dusty oak derived spice and vanilla adding complexity.
The palate is rich, luscious and round with intense, perfectly ripen fruit characters. Dark chocolate and vanilla characters complement the generous red berry flavours. The wine has a well balanced structure with great texture and surprising delicacy to the finish.
This wine can be enjoyed upon release but will reward careful cellaring up to and possibly beyond 2016.

Rick Allen, Parramatta Advertiser, Manly Daily, March 2010
The official price for this Clare Valley red is $19, but you often see it significantly reduced which makes it outstanding value. It has a bouquet of plums and violets, and big ripe berry and dark chocolate flavours, with a bit of pepper and spice complexity. There's vanilla flavours in there too from the oak. All up it's beautifully drinkable. For me it's a T-bone steak special. Ever reliable and still good value.

Shiraz with pizzazz
A gold-medal winner, this Shiraz is filled with aromas of violet, plum and dark cherry. ItÆs rich with intense ripe fruit characters, and flavours of coffee and Mocha as well as creamy vanillin qualities make for a superb Shiraz.

Shiraz and blends
Aromas of spice and dark fruit, with good fruit and tannin balance and a nice length. Spicy backberry aromas with good layers and length. A great savoury wine with good length.

World's greatest shiraz challenge
Oaky nose and ripe, berry flavoured palate with Smoky oak and chocolaty complexity. Some excellent tannins.

20 great buys under $20
Clare shiraz does it's regional magic here, sweet fruited with a subtle whiff of eucalypt off in the background, but look for its crunch and bite in the mouth from pin-point berry ripeness, all backed up smartly with a faint touch of oak. A good all-rounder.
Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate, December 2010
The 2008 Estate Shiraz presents a deep garnet-purple color and earthy tar and damp loam aromas over cassis and black plum plus some hints of blackberry compote, licorice and dark chocolate. Full bodied with a firm level of chewy tannins, it has a high level of acid and a medium-long straightforward finish. Drink this one now to 2014.

Best Wines of 2010
Inky/oaky, crimson shiraz with rich, spicy fruit-cake characters showing a certain savouriness. Nice toasty oak and grainy tannins. Has length and balance.
Wine Advocate (USA), November 2011
Supple at first, with brown sugar and prune flavors that seem sweetly ripe, but this full-bodied wine firms up substantially on the finish, where it turns a bit eathery in flavor and coffee-astringent. Drink now, before the fruit fades.
