Kerry Skinner, Illawarra Mercury, October 2011

The Wakefield Winemaker Project (TWP) aims to allow its winemaking team to explore new styles and varieties. This Mediterranean variety is one of the first two TWP releases (the other is a grenache shiraz mataro blend). Attractively packaged, it's elegant and aromatic with citrus and pear fruit on the nose and palate, brilliant acidity and a crisp, dry finish. Drink with snapper fillets.

Ben Thomas, The Weekly Review, November 2011

This wine undergoes fermentation in two stages with different yeasts that add length and aromatics along with dryness. It's certainly aromatic, with fresh-cut pear, nectarine, florals, lemon and saline minerality. It's textural, with zippy acidity and a nice grip in balance with the vibrant flavours.

    Drinks Trade, February 2012

This wine has been treated really carefully. It has a very perfumed nose with complex savoury aromas of celery, vegetables, wax and citrus. It has a crisp, fresh, nice acidity and mineral notes on the palate, with good length and freshness. Good mouth feel too.

    Wining Pom, February 2012

I like these little sideline projects that Taylors do, a freshly perfumed aromatic white with a dominant citrus, celery, tropical and bath salt like nose with a straight shooting palate of immense refreshment. Zingy and crisp with a good length and cleansing acids.

Huon Hooke, Gourmet Traveller Wine, February 2012

This is one of the best 2011 Vermentino's I've seen. Pale colour; yeasty, fresh fermented aromas with peppery traces and some spicy palate flavours amid a soft, round, gentle structure. Just 10.5 percent alcohol and very refreshing.
