Hedonistic and tightly focussed, this exceptionally balanced wine displays lemon, lime and a seamless spine of natural acidity leading to a finish of extraordinary length.

Wine Colour
At release, the wine is a very pale straw colour with a slight green tinge to the edge.

Wine Bouquet
This wine originally looked quite closed and shy but now after some bottle age, is starting to evolve and flourish. Lime, citrus and subtle tropical fruit are emerging with piercing intensity and the smallest hint of toast. A fragrant back ground aroma of ginger and spice is also evident.

Wine Palate
The wine has substantial palate weight, showing great depth and generosity of flavour. The palate is zesty with citrus flavours carrying throughout and then long after the wine has left the mouth. The structure is rich, full and long but the finish is soft and elegant.

Cellaring Notes
The wine is evolving well at release yet should cellar well to 2017, possibly longer.

Sourced from a single vineyard on the family's estate, there's subtle citrus and tropical fruit with a zesty palate to match. This riesling sang like a bird. Delicious.

    In bottle since December 07 and displaying all the hallmarks of aged Clare Riesling, less kerosene more toast. ItÆs got a sense of lemon butter on brioche, some bath salts too. Good weight and feel and still primed with citrus and a good dose of spice. ItÆs structured and has good intensity with incredible length and poise. Would love to see this with food of the fishy kind.
