Pale yellow with a light green hue.
At first the wine appears reserved although with a closer inspection the wine has lifted varietal aromas of lemon, lime, pear, and slightly floral perfume.
A wine with substantial palate weight showing great depth and generosity of flavour. The palate is zesty with citrus flavours carried throughout and long after the wine has left the mouth. The structure is rich, full and long but the finish is soft and elegant. The wine is restrained yet generous and will reward further cellaring.
The wine has been bottle aged prior to release and can be enjoyed now. Under screwcap the wine will develop further with careful cellaring up to and possibly beyond 2015.

Pale straw color. The aromatics are spectacular. It took several minutes for me to take my first sip as the complex scents of apricot, baked apples, mineral, mango, lime jam, spring flowers and citrus stole my attention. The palate confirms the nose being generous and ponderous without ever appearing heavy. Rather it is sprite and lifting. Complex and perfectly balanced offering the quintessential Riesling experience.

2005 St Andrews Riesling displays developing lanolin and straw notes with hints of lemongrass and kaffir lime leaf. Crisp, dry and medium bodied, it offers a great concentration of lime cordial and warm citrus fruit flavors and a long minerally finish. Lovely now, it should age another 10 years.
