Wine Colour
Pale yellow with a light green hue.

Wine Bouquet
At first the wine appears reserved although with a closer inspection the wine has lifted varietal aromas of lemon, lime, pear, and slightly floral perfume.

Wine Palate
A wine with substantial palate weight showing great depth and generosity of flavour. The palate is zesty with citrus flavours carried throughout and long after the wine has left the mouth. The structure is rich, full and long but the finish is soft and elegant. The wine is restrained yet generous and will reward further cellaring.

Cellaring Notes
The wine has been bottle aged prior to release and can be enjoyed now. Under screwcap the wine will develop further with careful cellaring up to and possibly beyond 2015.

Pale straw color. The aromatics are spectacular. It took several minutes for me to take my first sip as the complex scents of apricot, baked apples, mineral, mango, lime jam, spring flowers and citrus stole my attention. The palate confirms the nose being generous and ponderous without ever appearing heavy. Rather it is sprite and lifting. Complex and perfectly balanced offering the quintessential Riesling experience.

    St. Andrews Riesling 200590/100

Harvey Steiman, Wine Spectator Magazine, November 2008

A Wine of Superior Character & Style
Fresh and tangy, this is a dry, tart white of modest proportions, but with pretty pear and slate aromas and flavors. Finishes with impressive persistence. Drink now through 2017.

    St. Andrews Riesling 200594/100

    Adelaide Advertiser, April 2009

    TASTED with Tony Love
With four years under the belt, this upmarket label has an attractive maritime sense to its developing nose, oystery almost, with lovely crisp reminders that it's riesling through and through, with lime juice and zest at its heart. Plenty of interest.

    St. Andrews Riesling 200593/100

Ray Jordan, West Australian, December 2009

This exceptional riesling is just starting to show those wonderful exotic toasty lemon butter characters on the nose and palate. It's rich yet tightly held with zippy fresh acid still prolonging a superb finish. Excellent food wine.

Very pale color; an amazingly fresh bouquet, exhibiting pure lime juice and floral aromas; the palate delivers precision and length, with rapier-like acidity and a generous dollop of fruit coursing all the way to the finish.

    St. Andrews Riesling 2005

John Crook, Westside News-Paddington, February 2010

    Summer Stunner
A gold medal at the national wine show in Canberra excited the judging panel and now it's your turn to do a tasting. Chances are you will more than likely come up with similar results. Fruit for the St Andrews 10th anniversary 2005 St Andrews Riesling were selected from the family's Clare Valley vineyards. It is a fresh and vibrant wine, in fact one of the best examples of riesling to be offered in a long time. With meticulous handcrafting by winemaker Adam Eggins, the result is one heck of a wine for summer.

A benchmark style from (their) top shelf label and another example of why Clare Valley riesling is rated so highly among lovers of the noble grape. It's elegant and fragrant with floral notes on the nose, vibrant lemon and lime fruit flavours, a zesty acidic backbone and a crisp, dry finish.

  • St. Andrews Riesling 200592/100

Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate, December 2010

2005 St Andrews Riesling displays developing lanolin and straw notes with hints of lemongrass and kaffir lime leaf. Crisp, dry and medium bodied, it offers a great concentration of lime cordial and warm citrus fruit flavors and a long minerally finish. Lovely now, it should age another 10 years.
