St. Andrews
St. Andrews
Riesling 1996
| Region: | Clare Valley |
Hedonistic and tightly focused, this exceptionally balanced wine displays lemon, lime and a seamless spine of natural acidity leading to a finish of extraordinary length.
Wine Colour
Medium yellow with a faint golden hue. The colour will develop with age into deeper yellows and light gold.
Wine Bouquet
Characters of musk, lavender, pear and floral perfume bind together with developing aged characters of
kerosene & toast.
Wine Palate
Citrus flavours of fresh lemons and limes intermingle with evolving layers of honey and toast. The palate is generous although balanced, and full-flavoured finishing with zingy acidity and pleasing dryness. A well matured Riesling exhibiting classic length & persistence of flavour, which should only improve with age.
Cellaring Notes
Immediately approachable and enjoyable. Will reward careful cellaring for up to 15 years, possibly longer.
