Silky textured with exceptional length and flavours of peach, nectarine and subtle cashew nuances from quality French oak.Download Full Winemaker Note
At release, the wine is a pale straw.
The wine has a fresh, lifted aroma of white peach, subtle pineapple and a hint of honey dew melon. Enticing cashew nut aromas from the oak add complexity to the bouquet.
The palate has a rich texture to the mid-palate whilst still retaining a slightly minerally acid backbone, giving it an overall elegance. There is a touch of creaminess from the lees maturation and battonage. Flavours of white peach, nectarine, cream and cashews are evident along with cleansing citrus at the finish. The wine has wonderful length from the use of quality French oak.
Designed to drink superbly well upon release, it will also age gracefully with careful cellaring to 2016, possibly longer.

Clare Valley and Surrounding Regions
Buttery-soft, toasty nose and complex palate with perfect fruit/oak/acid balance.
Lisa Porrotti Brown, Rober Parker's The Wine Advocate, December 2010
2008 St Andrews Chardonnay has a good intensity of stone fruit, cream, meal and apple tart aromas. Medium bodied with plenty peach and pear flavors and refreshing acidity, it gives a long creamy finish. Drinking now, it should remain fresh to 2014+.

This Clare Valley wine is yet another super-premium Chardonnay from Australia that proves definitively that the country's reputation for over-oaked, over-blown 'Chardy' really does deserve to be buried deep and forgotten about. With a modest 13% alcohol and a gorgeous nose shimmering with white flower, lemon and delicate Kendal mint cake aromas, there's a touch of honey and vanilla from careful barrel fermentation and ageing. Beautifully made.
