If you have joined the long queue of regular Shiraz drinkers and don't want to pay the earth for a good regular drop take a look at this one from the ever reliable Wakefield. It has the great Shiraz characteristics with a hint of spice followed with nice plum aromas. Put a few these in the rack.

New Releases - Best Wines of 2010
Fresh, vibrant, purple wine with seamless integration of spicy plums and charred oak aromas, followed by a gorgeous rich, plum cake-like palate with a soft middle and light oak finish.

Wine Will Eat Itself
There's a real mouthful of shiraz in here. It's a big earthy shiraz with stacks of savoury, dusty fruit, ripe tannins and a layer of creamy oak. It's a warm easy drink, ideal for the barbie.

A fresh new drop or two

The Promised Land Cabernet Sauvignon has vibrant spicy aromas of red currant, plum and a touch of spice. The full bodied Promised Land Shiraz has aromas of plum and a touch of spice.

Treasure Trove - Best value Australian Shiraz
An elegant rather than blockbuster style. Supple, peppery shiraz with bright red berry flavours
James Halliday, 1001 Wines Under $20, November 2011
A no-frills wine that has occasionally had considerable success in the overseas wine shows, and has been made to a consistent style and quality for a number of years. It is a medium-bodied wine towards the upper end of expectation at this price point, with red and black fruits, a touch of spice and minimal tannins.
