Juicy blackcurrant fruits along with subtle coffee and savoury cedar flavours and a smooth gentle finish.
The quality of the Padthaway and Clare Valley components really sets this wine apart. Distinctly flavoursome and true to its varietal origins – but at once soft and approachable. This is the sort of wine you know you should share but just want to keep to yourself.

You've got to love a cabernet that ticks all the quality boxes but retails for under $15. This budget offering from family-owned Wakefield offers drinkability with a capital D. It's vibrant and juicy, designed to be enjoyed in its youth, but also has a complex palate with dark cassis fruit flavours, hints of mocha and savoury oak in perfect balance. A blend of fruit from Padthaway and the Clare Valley... The ideal wine to have on hand when friends drop around for a barbecue.

Here is a nicely priced full bodied cabernet sauvignon from Wakefield. It's an everyday drink that won't send you to the poor house. Nice chocolate flavours and a light pepper finish.Bargain of the week

A well-priced red, with good colour, minty/berry cabernet aromas with a touch of eucalyptus, lots of flavour and substance, sweet ripe fruit. There's a touch of hardness on the finish that doesn't stop it being terrific value for money. Drink now to five years.Top 40

Wine Will Eat Itself
A soft and generous medium to full-bodied red wine brimming with opulent fleshy cabernet black currant. It's well balanced with subtle oak and fine-grained tannins in support. Terrific value.

The Taylors family has released two new vintages of the award-winning Promised Land range - 2009 Promised Land Cabernet Sauvignon and 2009 Promised Land Shiraz. The Promised Land Cabernet Sauvignon has vibrant spicy aromas of red currant, plum and a touch of spice. The full bodied Promised Land Shiraz has aromas of plum and a touch of spice.

Although Taylors has a hefty 340 ha of estate vineyards in the Clare Valley, it is probable that some Riverland cabernet sauvignon was employed here along with a estate component. That said, the regional make-up is of limited relevance to a wine at this price point. Good hue. It has typical Taylors' ability to over-deliver at this price point, with cassis fruit offset by savoury tannins. Drink it now with hearty food.
