Wine Colour
On release, the wine is a deep opaque red with ruby hues.

Wine Bouquet
The wine has very lifted aromas of spice, plum, red berries and violets. There is a chocolate and subtle cigar-box character from the oak maturation.

Wine Palate
The wine has a rich and mouth-filling palate with ripe dark berry fruit flavours, along with spice, chocolate and freshly roasted coffee characters. It is finely balanced with a linear acid line, grainy tannins, a warming finish and good persistence of flavour.

Cellaring Notes
Will reward careful cellaring in ideal conditions to 2016, possibly beyond.

Kerry Skinner, Illawarra Mercury, June 2010

    Quench Wakefield Golden Run
A blend of Clare Valley and McLaren Vale fruit that won a gold medal at this year's Decanter World Wine Awards. Opulent and very smart with layers of plum and intense berry fruit, integrated spice and chocolate characters, nicely balanced oak and acidity, fine, supple tannins.

  • Jaraman Shiraz 200888/100

Lisa Perrotti Brown, Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate, December 2010

Deep garnet purple in color, the 2008 Jaraman Shiraz has really fruity, blackberry and blueberry aromas with whiffs of lavender and allspice. Full bodied with generous flesh and well supported by medium-firm fine-grained tannins plus high acid, it has a long clean finish. Drinking now, it should remain good through 2015.

Peppery/spicy/earthy characters on the nose, sitting on top of plum fruit. More earthy elements on a palate with nice licorice notes.

    The Riesling Tasting
While the Clare Valley delivers rich flavours of plum, cherry, blackberry and liquorice, the McLaren Vale provides intense ripe berry, dark chocolate spice and soft, ripe tannins û a blend that results in a sumptuous, full-bodied wine.
