Jaraman
Jaraman
Shiraz 2007
| Region: | Clare Valley & McLaren Vale |
Rich and voluptuous McLaren Vale fruit is married to the intense, ripe and lightly peppered berry fruit of the Clare Valley.
On release, the wine is a deep red with a slight purple tinge to the edge.
Wine Bouquet
The wine has very lifted aromas of blackcurrant and blackberry. There is dark chocolate and subtle cigar-box characters underneath.
Wine Palate
The wine has a round and opulent palate with a silky texture and soft tannins. Ripe berry fruit flavours, along with plum, chocolate and freshly roasted coffee are evident. The wine has a finely balanced palate with good structure and persistence of flavour.
Cellaring Notes
Will reward careful cellaring in ideal conditions to 2014, possibly beyond.

The Tasting
This wine is a deep burgundy with lifted fruit and spice, and lots of pepper. It has generous fruit with firm tannins and it is nicely integrated. Our Picks

Our Picks
The first gulp produces an explosion of cherry, spice and liquorice on the front palate and the mouth-filling berry flavours and soft tannins that the McLaren Vale region is famous for. It's still a good wine and well-suited to a Sunday roast.Friday Drinks Club

Friday Drinks Club
This is another classic from Wakefield coming from Clare Valley and McLaren Vale fruit. It has aromas of peppery blackcurrant, liquorice and vanilla which complement the rich blackberry, toasty vanilla, chocolate and pepper flavours. It is full bodied with silky tannins and an intensity that is mouth filling. A wine with good concentration and complexity that will match nicely with food.Shiraz Reviews

Shiraz Reviews
The Jaraman (Aboriginal for seahorse) is always a blend from two exceptional regions known for the variety. Always good value, always pretty classy & complex. Blackberry & Apple custard tart, earthy Blackberry & cigar box. Drying medium to long length, with a cloves and liquorice finish. Lots going on in this wine, and will be interesting to look at in 6 months (I'll review it blind with a group again). I believe this sort of wine is what makes Australia so unique - we are able to take two parcels of fruit, from different regions, both with different yet complimentary flavours to create a more complex wine. Value.
