At release the wine is deep red with a vibrant purple hue.
Lifted varietal aromas of plum and ripe berry are evident along with subtle white pepper, spice and vanilla and cedar from the oak maturation.
A rich and generous wine with sweet black berry and blood plum fruit flavours. It has a voluptuous mouth-filling palate with soft and silky tannins. American oak flavours of subtle vanilla and chocolate are evident along with a subtle spiciness. The finish is warm and long with a pleasing persistence.

4 stars, Winestate Magazine, July/August 2008
Winestate Magazine, July/August 2008 “Magic in a glass. Lovely effect of sweet oak with ripe fruit sells this wine immediately. Light tannin and lots of flavours, a wonderful wine in terms of accessibility, balance and user friendliness and delightful with a wide range of food courses.” Peter Saunders, F&B Behind Bars, Sep 2008
Whilst being immediately approachable the wine will reward patient careful cellaring up to and beyond 2014.
