Wine Bouquet
The aroma is distinctly varietal. Fruit characters of peach, nectarine, fig and subtle pineapple are evident. Secondary aromas of spice, cashew, brioche and cedar add to the wine’s allure.

Wine Palate
The palate is elegant in weight and structure yet rich in complex flavours. The palate shows fruit characters of fig, mandarin and peach. Subtle pineapple characters are noticeable on the front palate. Barrel fermentation and subsequent battonage has given the wine a deliciously creamy mid palate. Vosges barrel maturation has lead to the integration of characters such as cedar, cashew and spice, which add to complexity. The Adelaide hills parcel has lent its crisp long acid structure to the wine, leading to a clean, persistent finish.

Suggested Food Matching
Try a vegetable ratatouille or mushroom risotto. A great accompaniment to mature cheddar and creamy brie.

Critics Notes
“This is why I love Chardonnay – heady tropical, spicy, cedary, even brioche aromas, then a deliciously creamy mid-palate of nutty oak and full tropical flavours. A fine dining wine at a great price.” Debbie Southern, Sunshine Coast Daily, June 2007

“The 2005 Chardonnay is a blend of Clare Valley and Adelaide Hills fruit and it is a beauty…It was spicy and aromatic with brilliant fruit characteristics. I loved it…” Peter Howard, Noosa Journal, 7 June 2007

“Outstanding Clare Valley- Adelaide Hills blend with a striking amalgam of fruit flavours enhanced by just the right degree of oak. Super wine with prawns and oysters.” Sunday Telegraph, 10 June 2007

“Including Hills region fruit to add finesse to this super-powered, turbo-ripe wine, the balance sheet shows yellow nectarine and gingery oak influences to start, then purposeful winemaking to give weight and strength that offers a bigger style for those wanting punch and presence. 92 points.” Tony Love, Adelaide Advertiser, 20 February 2008
