Jaraman
Jaraman
Cabernet Sauvignon 2006
| Region: | Clare Valley & Coonawarra |
Generous ripe fruit flavours of the Clare Valley are balanced with elegant, fine tannins, lifted mint character and velvety finish of the Coonawarra.
At release, a deep opaque red with a bright red hue.
Wine Bouquet
The wine has lifted, fruit aromas of blackcurrant and cherry along with mint and secondary, complex aromas of dark chocolate, coffee and cinnamon.
Wine Palate
The wine has ripe flavours of black cherry and cassis, followed by subtle secondary characters of cinnamon, spice and cedar from French oak maturation. The palate is elegant and the finish is long and persistent.
Cellaring Notes
Will reward careful cellaring in ideal conditions to 2014, possibly beyond.

Wakefield Jaraman Cabernet Sauvignon 2006
60% Clare Valley and 40% Coonawarra and, I think, the first Jaraman red IÆve really liked. Mint, blackcurrant, licorice/dark chocolate and spicy oak with a saucy truffle aspect. ItÆs medium to full bodied with plenty of sweet blackcurranty fruit and spicy toasty oak to match. I like the tannins, firm but fine grained, and the acidity is fresh and clean. Good length and all in all an all round tasty and well balanced wine.Time to Renew That Semillon Relationship

Time to Renew That Semillon Relationship
A super wine from this excellent vintage that captures the essence of Coonawarra and the power and grunt of Clare. It comes together magnificently in this elegant poised and supremely crafted cabernet. A little mint on the nose, touches of blackcurrant and cedary black olive. Sustained palate.Styles - Best Wines of 2009

Very savoury nose - smells of bacon and smallgoods with lovely layers of savoury flavours. Real character with a Bordeaux feel.
